National Testing Agency (NTA) has made an important announcement regarding the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) to be conducted for 2025. NTA clarified that NEET UG 2025 marks will not be limited to only medical courses (MBBS) for the academic session 2025-26, but will now be based on these scores for other courses, such as Bachelor of Dental Studies (BDS) and Bachelor of Veterinary Admission can also be taken in Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH). This has opened up new admission opportunities for students, as they will no longer need to appear for additional exams to gain admission into both these important and popular courses.
NTA released a public notice on 16 January 2025 regarding the conduct of its NEET UG 2025, in which it was clarified that the marks and merit list of NEET UG 2025 will also be used for admission to BDS and BVSc & AH courses . Like before, this decision has been taken as per the rules of the concerned regulatory bodies. With this announcement, students will get more options and will be able to get better opportunities in their desired fields.
Earlier, NTA had announced that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode on a single day, in a single shift. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved this change, so that the NEET exam can be conducted in a transparent and consistent manner. As a result, students will get a chance to take the examination in a single day, and there will be no confusion or difficulty in conducting this examination.
Apart from this, NTA has also announced an important change for the candidates of B.Sc Nursing course. From now on, it will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify the NEET UG exam to take admission in B.Sc Nursing course. This change will promote unity and inclusivity in the field of medical education, as now a single entrance examination will be used for all medical courses. This will provide uniformity to the students in their preparation and guidance and will ensure a uniform level selection process across the country.
NTA has advised students to use their APAAR ID and Aadhaar-based authentication during NEET UG 2025 registration. This step has been taken to ensure a safe and reliable registration process, so that no student is deprived of the examination due to fraud or wrong information.
Along with this, NTA has uploaded the syllabus of NEET UG 2025 on its official website, so that students do not have any confusion in preparing for the exam. This syllabus will be the guide for their studies and will help the students to ensure which subjects they focus on.
