Don’t follow anyone’s footsteps, make your own path
According to the report of Business Today, this child had asked Narayan Murthy how he felt as the co-founder of Infosys. To this he said that you do not need to follow anyone’s footsteps. You have to make your own path. You have to make a difference with your work. During the India Leaders Week program, Narayan Murthy, while talking to the students, said that my father taught me the right use of time through a timetable. This helped me a lot in performing well during the exams of life. All of you have to understand the importance of discipline.
Take responsibility for failure and share success with the team
Narrating an incident that happened in Paris, Narayana Murthy said that as a young engineer, while testing a program, I accidentally blew up the entire computer system memory. This was such a big mistake that the entire project was in danger. After this, Narayana Murthy’s boss Colin supported him. Both of them worked together for 22 hours continuously to restore the system and save the project. He said that Colin praised me but never talked about his sacrifice. He gave me a big message of leadership. You have to take full responsibility for failure and share every success with your team.
True happiness lies in sharing things and taking care of people
Narayan Murthy, while talking about his mother, said that I learned from her the joy of giving something. When I bought new clothes after getting a national scholarship, my mother told me to give them to my elder brother. Initially, I felt bad but the next day I gave the clothes to my brother. Then she taught me that real happiness lies in sharing and caring.
