Vinesh Phogat has also been suspended from his post. Former Indian women wrestler Vinesh Phogat is currently busy preparing for the Haryana Legislative Assembly Election 2024. Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling after the Paris Olympics 2024. After retirement, she joined the Congress party and started preparing to contest the elections. Amidst these preparations, Vinesh was issued a notice by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on Wednesday (September 25). Vinesh has been asked to respond to the notice within 14 days.
You might be wondering that Vinesh Phogat has left wrestling, then why does she need to give a dope test? So let us tell you that all the athletes registered with NADA’s Registered Testing Pool (RTP) are required to give details of their presence for the dope test. Vinesh is also a part of this pool.
If the athlete is not present at the place mentioned in the details given for the doping test, it is considered a failure to give information about whereabouts. On September 9, Vinesh was not present for the dope test at her home in Kharoda village of Sonipat.
“You are hereby served with a formal notice informing you of the clear failure to comply with the requirements relating to venue information under the Anti-Doping Rules. You are invited to provide your clarification before a final decision is taken on the matter,” the NADA notice said.
It further said, “A dope control officer was sent to the location at that time to test you. However, the officer was unable to locate you for the test as you were not present there.”
