Mutual Fund sip: In the month of February, the continuing decline in the Indian stock markets has been impacting on mutual fund investment. Investment in equity mutual funds declined to 29303 crore in February 2025, which was Rs 39,687 crore in January 2025. That is, 26 percent inflow has decreased in February as compared to January. The decline in the market has also affected the investment made through SIP in music. In February 2025, SIP investment slipped at a three -month low level.
SIP investment declines
Amphi has released the data of investment in mutual funds for the month of February. According to this data, SIP investment has slipped to Rs 25999 crore of three months, which was Rs 26400 crore in January. The declining investment through SIP is showing fear among retail investors due to the decline in the market. The trend of closing SIP has increased in the month. The SIP stop ratio increased by 122 per cent, which was 109 per cent in January 2025. It is clear that investors are shutting down their SIPs. According to Amphie data, 44.56 lakh new SIP accounts have been opened in February 2025 and 54.70 SIP accounts have been closed.
Equity inflow declines
Equity inflow in mutual funds has come down to Rs 29303 crore, which was Rs 39,688 crore in January. According to the data, investment in smallcap fund category in February 2025 fell by 34.9 per cent to Rs 3722.46 crore, while midcap funds have inflow 3406.95 crore. Inflow in midcap funds has decreased by 33.8 percent. Inflow in large-cap funds has come down by 6.4 percent to Rs 2866 crore. Investment in focused funds has reached Rs 1287.22 crore with a rise of 64.4 per cent. Net inflow has fallen to Rs 5712 crore in sectorole or themetic fund. Index funds have an inflow of Rs 4177 crore. An investment of Rs 3846 crore has come in the exchange traded fund i.e. ETF.
AUM of the mutual fund industry has come down by 4 percent to 64.26 lakh crore rupees, which was 66.98 lakh crore in January. A total of 29 NFOs were launched in February in which Rs 4029 crore has been raised.
