Mumtaz Birthday: Mumtaz, a veteran and beautiful Bollywood actress, earned a special and big name in her career. Mumtaz turned 77 on 31 July. Her father was Indian while her mother was Iranian. Mumtaz worked as a child artist in Bollywood at the age of just 12.
Mumtaz’s mother and aunt used to work as junior artists in Bollywood. Thus, Mumtaz also chose the path of Bollywood. After debuting as a child artist at the age of 12, she debuted as a lead actress at the age of 16. During this time, her first film ‘Faulaad’ was released.
Actors were not ready to work with Mumtaz
In the initial phase of her career, Mumtaz also saw bad days in the industry. No actor was ready to work with Mumtaz. She was not friendly with actresses either. In an interview given to The Dawn, the actress said, ‘I just closed my eyes and worked. I thought everything else was in God’s hands. My start in the film industry was wrong. I will not blame the actors for not working with me because everyone wants to climb the ladder of success’.
There was no friendship with the actress
Mumtaz did not have friendship with the beauties of her time. Unlike other actresses, she was very close to Dara Singh, Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor. In an interview given to Filmfare, she said, ‘I don’t know what is in someone’s heart. I was closer to boys than girls. You should ask heroines why they were not close to me. No one crossed their limits to befriend me. People can be jealous of you or love you; it does not matter’.
‘Heroines can’t be friends’
Mumtaz has also said in an interview to Times Entertainment that actresses can never be friends. On her competition with famous actress Sharmila Tagore, she had said, ‘Heroines cannot be friends, neither then nor now. We neither had dinner nor went out together. It has always been like this’.
