According to the report of Cricbuzz, apart from MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings is going to retain captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana for IPL 2025. Apart from Dhoni, Gaikwad, Jadeja and Pathirana, Chennai will retain any two players from Devon Conway, Sameer Rizvi and Shivam Dubey.
According to the new rules of IPL, now all teams will be able to retain five players. The sixth player can be included in the team under RTM in the auction. If the team wants, it can retain less players than this. If a team retains 5 players then its purse will be reduced by Rs 75 crore.
According to the report, Chennai Super Kings is going to hire all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for Rs 18 crore. This means that Jadeja will be Chennai’s number-1 retention. Apart from this, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will be retained for Rs 14 crore. The team is going to retain Sri Lankan young fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana for Rs 11 crore. Whereas former captain MS Dhoni will be retained as an uncapped player.
