This is about the CSK vs RCB match held on 18 May 2024. This was the last match of both the teams in the league stage and it was very important for CSK to win that match especially to keep alive the chances of going to the playoffs. But Chennai lost that match by a huge margin of 27 runs. Usually after the match, players of both the teams shake hands, but after that match Dhoni returned to the dressing room without shaking hands.
MS Dhoni broke the TV
According to reports, former Indian spin bowler Harbhajan Singh told that MS Dhoni’s anger was at its peak after RCB’s victory. Actually, due to anger, Dhoni had left the field without shaking hands with the Bengaluru players. Harbhajan also claimed that Dhoni had broken the TV in anger.
Why did Dhoni get angry?
In that do-or-die match, Royal Challengers Bangalore, playing first, had scored 218 runs. The equations of the playoff were becoming such that even if Chennai lost, it had to ensure that Bengaluru could not win by a margin of more than 18 runs. CSK needed 35 runs in the last over to win the match, but they needed only 16 runs to go to the playoffs. But Chennai could score only 7 runs in the last over. Dhoni was furious due to not being able to make it to the playoffs.
