Mokshada Ekadashi 2024: According to Panchang, the Ekadashi date falling in the Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month is known as Mokshada Ekadashi. On this day, God is pleased with the people who worship Lord Shri Hari (Vishnu ji) and observe fast and the person gets freedom from sins and sufferings. There is importance of worshiping the four-armed form of Shri Hari on Mokshada Ekadashi.
This year in 2024, the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi will be observed on Wednesday, 11 December. The fast will be broken the next day on 12th December. The reason for this is that on the day Mokshada Ekadashi occurs, Lord Shri Krishna had preached the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. Therefore, Geeta Jayanti festival is also celebrated on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi.
It is also believed that the sins of the people who keep fast on this day are destroyed, they get immense success in life and after death the person attains heaven.

On the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning and take bath and then wear clean clothes, light a lamp in the puja room and take a pledge to fast. Install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a post and perform Jalabhishek of the Lord and then offer yellow clothes. Offer Roli, Akshat, flowers, Tulsi Dal, incense, lamp and naivedya to God and worship him along with chanting mantras. After the puja, recite the Vrat Katha and perform Aarti at the end.
