Mohammed Shami Team India: Indian cricket team’s deadly fast bowler Mohammed Shami is on a break these days. Shami has been out of Team India since the ODI World Cup 2023. He got injured and then underwent surgery. But now Shami is fit and ready to return to Team India. Shami will adopt the path of domestic cricket to join Team India. According to a report, he will start playing domestic cricket soon. Like Shami, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also used to play domestic matches to work on himself despite being in Team India.
Shami has reacted on his return to Team India. According to a news in India Today, Shami said, “It is difficult to say when I will return to Team India. I am working very hard on this. But hopefully you will see me playing for Bengal before Team India. I will come to play two-three matches for Bengal. I will come fully prepared for this.”
Shami was the hero of the Indian team in the ODI World Cup 2023. He took one wicket in the final match against Australia. Earlier, he had taken 7 wickets against New Zealand. Shami took 5 wickets for just 18 runs in the match played against Sri Lanka in Mumbai.
Shami underwent ankle surgery in February 2024. He was injured. After this, he prepared for a comeback by staying at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Shami is now fully fit. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made it clear to the players that they will have to play in domestic matches. Many players have been criticized for this earlier. Some players did not play domestic matches to play in the IPL.
