Mohammad Rizwan New Captain: Pakistan Cricket Board has made a big announcement. PCB has made Mohammad Rizwan the captain of ODI and T20. The board made this announcement on Sunday evening. Rizwan team will replace Babar Azam. Babar had recently resigned from the captaincy. Pakistan had to face a crushing defeat in the ODI World Cup. After this the team could not do anything special in the T20 World Cup. Babar had resigned from his post only after the poor performance of the team.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held a press conference. “We talked to mentors,” he said. After talking to the coaching staff and the team, Mohammad Rizwan’s name came up. Everyone has expressed confidence in Rizwan. Salman Agha will be the vice-captain.
Australia tour will be Rizwan’s first assignment –
The first assignment as captain for Rizwan will be the Australia tour. A series of three ODI and three T20 matches will be played between Australia and Pakistan. The first match of the ODI series between Australia and Pakistan will be played in Melbourne on 4 November. After this, the second match will be played in Adelaide on 8 November and the third match will be played in Perth on 10 November. The T20 series will start from 14th November. It will run till 18th November.
Rizwan’s experience in captaincy has been like this –
Rizwan does not have much experience of captaincy. He has not yet captained Pakistan in ODI or T20. Although he has played the role of captain in two test matches. If we talk about domestic matches, Rizwan has captaincy experience. He has been the captain of Multan Sultans. Under his captaincy the team became runner up in Pakistan Super League 2021.
