Mohammad Rizwan Appointed as Pakistan Captain: Mohammad Rizwan can be chosen as the new captain of Pakistan’s ODI and T20 team. According to a media report, Rizwan and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi met, after which a decision can be taken to make Rizwan the captain soon. The selectors liked the option of making Rizwan the captain, while Salman Ali Aga can soon be confirmed as the vice-captain of the team.
According to sources, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also liked the decision to make Rizwan the captain. He believes that the arrival of new players in the team has had a positive impact on the results. It was also reported that PCB has approved the squad for the upcoming Australian tour and the team can be announced soon. The team has been selected on the performance of the players in the Champions ODI Cup.
If reports are to be believed, Mohammad Rizwan’s name was put forward by head coach Gary Kirsten for making him the captain. Let us tell you that just a few weeks ago, Babar Azam had resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan’s ODI and T20 team, saying that he wanted to focus on his personal performance. Along with this, he had decided to leave the captaincy citing the desire to spend time with his family.
Mohammad Rizwan also has a lot of experience in captaincy. He has held the charge of captaincy in Pakistan domestic cricket and has also captained Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League (PSL). He was given the captaincy of Sultans in the year 2021 and in the same season this team won the title by defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the final.
