- Do not perform any auspicious ceremony like marriage or engagement, doing so will not bring success and prosperity.
- Do not disturb the animals, it causes Pitra Dosh.
- Do not cut peepal, banyan or any other tree.
- Do not consume non-vegetarian food or alcohol, financial and mental problems surround you.
- Do not eat gram, lentils, mustard greens and radish.
- Avoid getting angry on this date, avoid insulting anyone.
What tasks should be done on Amavasya
- On this day, there is a tradition of waking up before sunrise and taking bath in pilgrimage places or holy rivers. Mixing a few drops of Ganga water in water and taking bath at home will yield equal benefits.
- Along with fasting throughout the day, take a pledge to worship and donate as per your devotion.
- After sweeping the entire house, sprinkle Ganga water or cow urine.
- Offer water to the Peepal tree early in the morning, do 108 circumambulation of the Peepal and Banyan tree, this eradicates poverty.
