Many private universities of the country are selling fake degrees. This disclosure was made by the Union Education Ministry in response to a question asked in Parliament. According to the information, a question was asked in the Parliament whether it is true that some private universities in the country are selling fake degrees? If the answer is yes then what action has been taken against him? The Union Education Ministry replied yes.
Education Ministry gave this information
Answering this question, the Union Education Ministry said that the UGC has received complaints through the Central Vigilance Commission i.e. CVC against some private universities accusing them of selling fake PhD degrees. Instructions have been given to the concerned state governments to investigate these complaints and allegations.

Most complaints against universities of this state
If we look at this list, 50 percent i.e. five out of 10 universities are located in Rajasthan. In the list, complaints have been received against two universities of Uttar Pradesh, one each of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. The ministry said that according to the information received from UGC, these complaints and allegations have been sent to the concerned state governments for investigation. On the basis of enquiry, the Uttarakhand government has rejected the allegations against Quantum University and the Madhya Pradesh government has termed the allegations against Sri Satya Sai University of Technology and Medical Sciences as false.
Rajasthan government took this step
Rajasthan Government has banned OPJS University for admission from the academic session 2024-25 on the basis of complaints and allegations. At the same time, UGC has also barred OPJS University from taking nominations for PhD from December 2023. Let us tell you that the UGC has constituted a standing committee to monitor whether the universities are following the procedure in awarding degrees as per the UGC regulations and whether they are awarding PhD degrees as per them or not.
