It is being told that the name of this malware is FakeCall and Kaspersky was the first to give this information in the year 2022. Now its new version is causing harm to the users.
FakeCall malware is very dangerous
FakeCall malware has been updated recently. Reports related to its new version suggest that through this, attackers can overtake someone’s phone from a distance. Information related to this dangerous malware has been given by a security company named Zimperium and it has been told that this malware is using ‘Vishing’, which is the short form of voice phishing. Due to this, users are trapped by sending fraudulent calls or voice messages.
Enters the phone with the help of APK file
This malware takes the help of an APK file to access the devices of Android users. As soon as the user installs the app, it asks FakeCall users to make it the default dialer app. After doing this, the app asks for many permissions and the malware gets complete control over the device. This malware notes the calls coming to the smartphone and the calls dialed from it.
Uses fake UI
This malware uses Fake UI and cannot be detected easily. This malware is present on third party apps and fake download platforms. As soon as it enters the phone, it starts its work and by taking access to the phone, it breaches personal data.
