Meena Ganesh Death: Malayalam actress Meena Ganesh has passed away at the age of 81. The veteran actress reportedly died on Thursday, December 19 in Palakkad area of Kerala. She died in a private hospital. Here she was undergoing treatment for five days after suffering from cerebral stroke.
In a career spanning decades, Meena has appeared in over 400 Malayalam films along with numerous television serials and theatrical performances. It is being told that the last rites of Meena Ganesh will be held in Shoranur on Thursday evening.

After the news of Meena Ganesh’s demise, there has been a wave of mourning in the Malayalam film industry. Many celebs and fans are paying tribute to the veteran actress. Actor Pakru has also shared an emotional note for the veteran actress on his Facebook handle. While sharing the picture of Meena Ganesh, he wrote, “Tribute to Meena Chechi.”
Who was Meena Ganesh?
Meena Ganesh was a veteran Malayalam actress. He won people’s hearts with his versatile performances in both films and theatre. Meena Ganesh was born in 1942 in Palakkad. He started his career as a theater artist at the age of 19. Meena started her film career in 1976 with a small role in Manimuzhakam. However, she gained immense popularity for the role of Pathumma in the 1991 film Mukhchitram. Some of his brilliant films include ‘Vasantiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum’, ‘Nandanam’ and ‘Karumadikkuttan’.
Meena Ganesh has worked with actors like Prithviraj Sukumaran, Dileep, Mohanlal, Mammootty and Kalabhavan Mani.

Apart from films, Meena Ganesh also made a mark in Malayalam theatre. He performed with famous theater groups like SL Puram Surya Soma, Kayamkulam Kerala Theater and Thrissur Chinmaya and won many awards for his stage performances.
