Love, Sitara Review: Every happy family is the same and every unhappy family is completely different from each other. Is your family happy? Or is it unhappy, has your family hidden something from each other? Obviously we hide something or the other, either out of compulsion or for the happiness of others.
‘Love, Sitara’ tells that if you tell something to the family, they will understand and the real happy family is the one where no one judges each other and understands each other’s happiness, but one thing they do not understand is that good films are released on OTT. Why don’t people promote it as much as they promote garbage, but films like ‘Love, Sitara’ should definitely get love.
Story
Sitara i.e. Shobhita Dhulipala is an interior designer, one day she comes to know that she is pregnant. Then she proposes her boyfriend Arjun i.e. Rajeev Siddharth for marriage. But she does not tell that she is pregnant, whereas 3 years ago she had rejected Arjun’s marriage proposal and had also said that she cannot have children because it damages the ovaries.
Then they go to Sitara’s mother’s house i.e. Nani B. Jayashree for the wedding, where Sitara’s mother Lata i.e. Virginia Rodriguez, father Govind i.e. Sanjay Bhutiani and aunt Hema i.e. Sonali Kulkarni are also present. No one knows that Sitara is pregnant but there is a lot more about this family that is not known to each other. Gradually those secrets are revealed and what are these secrets you will know by watching this film on Zee 5.
How is the movie?
Do not stop this film after watching the first 15 minutes because the beginning of the film may seem slow but when the film picks up pace, it takes you to a world of relationships where you and I are all entangled. We all hide things from each other in our own families out of fear that we will be judged, misunderstood. But this makes things worse.
‘Love, Sitara’ might also make you feel guilty if you have ever been in an extra marital affair. This film might also inspire you to tell the truth to your family. The film of 1 hour 45 minutes is very brilliant, every character has its own story, its own compulsion, its own existence. Slowly when you know all this, you realize a lot. One feels that the women of the house are something different from outside and are hiding something else inside and to realize this, watch this film.
acting
This is Shobhita Dhulipala’s career best performance, by best I mean best till now. The best of an actor should always remain hidden but it is also true that the nourishment of an actor is praise and here Shobhita deserves it. She also looks very beautiful, whether in modern dress or saree, her screen presence is amazing. He has played this character in a very mature manner.
Rajeev Siddharth’s work in the role of Sitara’s boyfriend is quite good, Sonali Kulkarni as the aunt is very good and has played her character very well. She also suits well in this character. B Jayashree has done an amazing job in the role of the grandmother, she makes you laugh a lot. A granny who has no hesitation in talking about sex related things openly. Virginia Rodriguez’s work is good, Sanjay Bhutiani has also supported everyone very well.
Writing and Direction
‘Love, Sitara’ has been written by Sonia Bahl, Vandana, Hussain Dalal and Abbas Dalal. Vandana Kataria has directed the film and all of them are the heroes of this film. The writing of this film is the most amazing thing. To show all the characters so well in 1 hour and 45 minutes, to let them feel their stories, is a marvel of writing.
This is Vandana’s second film after ‘Nobleman’ and looking at her direction, it does not seem so, she has directed the film in an amazing way, has given importance to every character, how to present the story in a simple manner without shouting and drama. Vandana has shown that it can be done. Overall, definitely watch this film and feel it.
