Started with student politics
Ramesh Bidhuri was born on July 18, 1961 in the historic Tughlakabad village of South Delhi to Ramrikh and Charto Devi. He belongs to Gurjar community. Ramesh Bidhuri and his family have been active members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since the beginning. Bidhuri started his political career as a student leader, when he was elected the Central Counselor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College and a member of the Executive Council of Delhi University.
Since 1983, he worked for ABVP with full devotion and dedication. Bidhuri obtained his B.Com degree from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (M), Delhi University and later completed his degree in Law (LLB) from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Apart from this, he has also practiced law in Delhi High Court.
Became MLA for the first time in 2003
Ramesh Bidhuri actively participated in politics since 1993, holding important positions in various religious and political organizations. In 1996, he worked as the District General Secretary of Mehrauli district and was also the State Secretary of Mahasangh Dharma Yatra. From 1997 to 2003, he was the Mehrauli District President of BJP and from 2003 to 2008 he actively worked as the Vice President of BJP Delhi State.
Presently, Ramesh Bidhuri is the General Secretary of BJP Delhi State, he has been holding this post since 2008. In 2003, he contested the assembly elections for the first time from Tughlakabad on BJP ticket and was elected MLA. After delimitation in 2008, Tughlakabad constituency was divided into two and a new Okhla assembly constituency was formed. The people of Okhla elected Ramesh Bidhuri as their MLA. In 2013, he contested elections again from Tughlakabad and became MLA for the third consecutive time.
Bidhuri was a two-time MP from South Delhi.
BJP made him its candidate from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat in 2014 and he became MP for the first time. After this, he won this seat again in 2019. However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP made Ramveer Singh Bidhuri its candidate in place of Ramesh Bidhuri and he was successful in winning. Now Ramesh Bidhuri is making a comeback in Delhi Assembly elections. He will contest from Kalkaji seat, where he will face two women candidates. Aam Aadmi Party leader and current Chief Minister of Delhi Atishi is again contesting from this seat, while Congress has nominated Alka Lamba as its candidate. It will be interesting to see how Ramesh Bidhuri competes with Atishi and Alka Lamba in this triangular contest.

Bidhuri said, “I just made a reference to this and said that we will build a road like the cheeks of Priyanka Gandhi. There is nothing wrong in it. I am sad that the opposition is raising questions on the issue which is present in his own character. Lalu Yadav had also given a similar statement. Lalu Yadav has been a minister in the Congress cabinet, when he had given such a statement about Hema Malini, then he had said that if my words are motherly power, parents or If anyone else has been hurt, I apologize for that.”
Delhi Chief Minister had said this about Atishi
BJP candidate from Kalkaji seat of Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri had given a statement regarding changing the surname of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Addressing a gathering, Bidhuri said that earlier Atishi was Marlena, now she has become Singh. He changed his own father, this is his character.
