KL Rahul Emotional Farewell To LSG: KL Rahul was bought by Delhi Capitals in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Delhi bid Rs 14 crore on Rahul. Rahul was a part of Lucknow Super Giants in the last season of IPL (IPL 2024), but in the middle of the season, there was some altercation between Rahul and franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka. After this, the news of Rahul’s separation from the franchise intensified and ultimately the team released him.
Now Rahul has become a part of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025. After joining Delhi, Rahul gave an emotional farewell to Lucknow Super Giants. Rahul thanked everyone, but did not say anything about team owner Sanjeev Goenka.
Rahul shared a picture with the Lucknow team on social media. Captioning the picture, he wrote, “Grateful to the coach, teammates and fans who made this journey with LSG an unforgettable one. Thank you for the belief, memories, energy and unwavering support. Here’s to a new beginning.”
Lucknow team reached playoff for two seasons
Let us tell you that Lucknow Super Giants had entered IPL in 2022. The team had bought KL Rahul in the mega auction of 2022. Expressing confidence, the franchise handed over the command of the team to Rahul. Under the captaincy of Rahul in the first two seasons (IPL 2023 and IPL 2024), Lucknow secured a place in the playoffs. However, the team could not qualify for the third season.
KL Rahul’s IPL career
KL Rahul has played 132 matches in his IPL career so far. In 123 innings of these matches, he has scored 4683 runs at an average of 45.46 and strike rate of 134.60. During this period, he has scored 4 centuries and 37 half-centuries. Rahul started his IPL career in 2013 playing for RCB.
