KCA President on Sanju Samson: The first match of Champion Trophy 2025 is to be played on 19 February. India’s first match in this tournament is against Bangladesh on 20 February, for which BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma had announced the 15-member Indian team on 18 January. Due to the absence of Sanju Samson’s name in this list, questions are being raised in the minds of all the fans.
Amidst all this, it is being said that ignoring the Vijay Hazare Trophy is the reason for Sanju Samson being dropped from the Indian team of Champions Trophy 2025. On this, Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) President Jayesh George made a big revelation as to why Sanju Samson was not in the Kerala team for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25.
KCA George’s big revelation
Talking on this matter, Kerala Cricket Association President Jayesh George said that Sanju Samson had informed about his absence for Vijay Hazare Trophy through a one-line message. George said, “Sanju Samson informed us through a one-line text that he will not be available for the 30-man training camp. It was his personal decision, and later he expressed his availability for selection.”
He further added, “We always believed that Samson was perfect to be the captain of the team, because he is our white-ball captain and he also captained in the SMAT season. But his attitude has been such that he is available only when “They happen when they themselves want, which has affected the selection process.”
Samson’s last performance
The Indian cricket team went on South Africa tour in November. Here a series of 4 T20 matches was played between the two teams. In which Sanju Samson became the second highest run scorer. Samson scored 216 runs in 4 matches at an average of 72. Samson also scored 2 centuries in this T20 series.
