Global Outsourcing: Efforts are being made at their respective levels in the states also to keep pace with the rapidly growing economy of the country. While India has set itself the target of becoming a 5 trillion dollar economy, states like Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh are also striving for a 1 trillion dollar economy. In this series, Karnataka has also made a new plan to attract foreign companies. Under this, the state will give many types of exemptions to foreign companies and it is expected that about 3.5 lakh jobs will also be created in the state.
Target to double the number of Global Capability Centers to 1000
Karnataka government has planned to provide reimbursement of rental cost, assistance in patent fees and various tax exemptions to promote global outsourcing. Its plan is to double the number of Global Capability Centers (GCC) in the state to 1000 by 2029. This will also create lakhs of jobs. The draft policy in this regard was launched on Friday. The government hopes that it will earn about 50 billion dollars from these new centres.
Preparations to bring Forbes 2000 companies to Karnataka
Deputy Chief Minister of the state government, DK Shivakumar wrote on the social media platform X that we want to bring about 15 percent of the Forbes 2000 companies to Karnataka. We will create about 10 lakh jobs in all sectors by the year 2030. With this scheme, Karnataka will further strengthen its place as a global tech hub. These GCCs will help their companies in finance and research and development. At present there are about 1700 GCCs in the country. About 19 lakh people have got jobs through these.
The number of GCC employees will reach 28 lakh.
According to the recent report of IT Industry body Nasscom, the number of GCCs in the country may be around 2200 by 2030. Through these, jobs will also be given to about 28 lakh people. GCC in India likes Bengaluru very much. This is the reason why about one-third of the country’s GCCs are in this metro city. The state government will make efforts to open these GCCs in Bengaluru as well as Mangaluru, Mysore and Tumkuru.
