Kapil Dev On Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli: These days, there is a lot of speculation about the retirement of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli. Both the legends have said goodbye to T20 International after winning the T20 World Cup title in June 2024 and are now playing only ODI and Test cricket. But seeing the poor form in the Test, the news of Rohit and Virat’s retirement is rising, on which former Team India legend Kapil Dev has now reacted.
While talking to the media during the Professional Golf Tour of India, Kapil Dev talked about the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He said that both of them have the ability to take right decisions.
Kapil Dev said, “He is a very big player in his own right. Hopefully, he knows when is the right time to play. When he thinks it is not, he will announce.”
Rohit and Virat in bad form
Let us tell you that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had flopped in the five-match Test series played on the recent Australia tour. Kohli definitely scored a century, but his bat appeared silent in the remaining 8 innings. Apart from this, Rohit Sharma had scored only 31 runs in 3 matches. Due to poor form, captain Rohit Sharma was also dropped in the last test of the series played in Sydney. Jasprit Bumrah took command of Team India in the Sydney Test.
Rohit started practicing with Ranji team
Rohit Sharma, who flopped on the Australia tour, has started practicing with Mumbai’s Ranji team. On Tuesday (January 14), the Indian captain reached Wankhede Stadium for practice with the Ranji team. However, it is not yet clear whether he will participate in Ranji Trophy or not.
