Kangana Ranaut On Emergency Postponed: Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ is surrounded by a lot of controversies. The Sikh community has raised objections to the film. At the same time, due to the increasing controversies, the release date of Kangana Ranaut directed film ‘Emergency’ has been postponed. This film was to be released on 6 September.
But the film is still stuck with the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) and they have not yet given the green signal for its release. In fact, considering the sensitive issue of the film, the censor board has proposed several cuts. Due to this, ‘Emergency’ has been delayed by at least a week. The actress has now given her reaction on the delay of the film and the issues with the board.
My film has been put under emergency
Kangana Ranaut has given her reaction on the postponement of the release date of ‘Emergency’ on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast. Kangana said, “An emergency has been imposed on my film itself. This is a very disappointing situation. I am very disappointed with my country, and whatever the situation is.” The actress further said that the events shown in her film have already been shown in Madhur Bhandarkar’s 2017 political thriller ‘Indu Sarkar’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’, which released last year.
The censor board had earlier given the certificate
Let us tell you that ‘Emergency’ is based on the Emergency imposed in the country in 1975. Kangana has played the role of Indira Gandhi in the film. Kangana shared a video on social media on Friday and revealed that she was under pressure not to show certain historical events and figures, such as the assassination of Indira Gandhi and the Punjab riots, among other things.
He said that his film was initially given certification by the CBFC, but after several petitions the certificate was cancelled
Will fight in court to release the film uncut
The actress has now said in the same podcast that she will also go to court if needed. She further said, “We will keep telling those ridiculous stories. We will be scared of someone today, someone else tomorrow. People will keep scaring us because we get scared so easily. How long will we keep being scared? I have made this film with a lot of self-respect, that is why CBFC cannot raise any dispute, they have stopped my certification, but I am adamant on releasing the uncut version of the film. I will fight in court and release an uncut version. I cannot suddenly show that Indira Gandhi died at her home.
Let us tell you that ‘Emergency’ is a political drama that revolves around former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her life. Kangana Ranaut has played the role of the late PM in the film. She has also directed this film. Many actors including Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary and Milind Soman have played important roles in the film.
