Two double centuries for England in the same innings
The first time England scored two double centuries in the same innings of a Test was in 1985, which was scored by Graeme Fowler and Mike Gatting. The English batsmen had done this feat in the test played against India in Chennai. Graeme Fowler scored 201 and Mike Gatting scored 207 runs. Now Root and Brook have done the same miracle. Root and Brook achieved this feat against Pakistan in Multan. Root completed his double century in 305 balls and Brook completed his double century in 245 balls. Till the time of writing the news, both the batsmen are present at the crease.
Partnership of more than 400 runs
Batting together, Root and Brook scored a double century and also completed a partnership of more than 400 runs. This is only the second such occasion in the history of Test cricket for England when a partnership of 400 runs was completed. In the match played against West Indies in 1957, Peter May and Colin Cowdrey made a partnership of more than 400 runs for the first time in a Test for England.
Highest score of 250 plus runs against Pakistan
Joe Root did the feat of scoring 250 plus runs against Pakistan for the second time. Before this, Team India’s former veteran batsman Virender Sehwag was the only batsman to score 250 plus runs twice against Pakistan.

Root crossed the mark of 250 runs and included himself in a special list. He became the third batsman for England to score 250 plus twice.
