This is revealed by the report prepared by the industry organization i.e. Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and consultancy company Ernest & Young (EY).
61 lakh jobs will be provided by 2036-37
According to the report of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and consultancy company Ernest & Young (EY), 61 lakh new jobs will be created in the tourism and hospitality sector by 2036-37. To achieve these, specialization in skills related to digital marketing, sustainable tourism and customer services will be required. In this report, it has been proposed to release Tourism Implementation Index. So that employment trends and action plans for workforce preparation can be continuously monitored.
Will play an important role in economic development and employment generation
In the 18th annual tourism summit of CII, it was emphasized that tourism and hospitality sector will play an important role in economic development and employment generation in the coming days. At present tourism and hospitality contributes eight percent of India’s total employment. Despite the shocks of Corona, this sector has progressed to this position due to the boom on the domestic tourism front. Employment in this sector is expected to double by 2036-37. Out of the new 61 lakh jobs, 46 lakh will be for men and 15 lakh for women. This will not only help in expanding the workforce but will also help in increasing the participation of women. This will expand the network of providing quality service with the help of gig economy in special seasons.
