This talent platform did the study
Meanwhile, a study has revealed that the new generation (Gen Z) is giving more importance to peace of mind than salary in terms of work. In the priority of Gen Z youth, work-life balance and job satisfaction come before a big salary. This study has been done by the talent platform Unstop.
I like this thing more than my salary
More than 5 thousand employees of Gen G category have been included in the study. Apart from that, 500 HR professionals were also included in the study. 72 percent of the employees included in the Gen G survey believe that they give priority to job satisfaction over salary. At the same time, 77 percent of the people said that they would like to work in a company where there are opportunities for growth and development instead of a hefty salary.
Priorities are different from the older generation
These priorities of Gen Z are different from those of the older generations. For the older generations, factors like working for a long time in the same company and higher salary used to be important for changing jobs. For the workers of the older generation, staying in the office for longer than the fixed working hours also seems to be common. The new generation sees different priorities from these.
Half of the professionals are looking for better opportunities
Nearly half of Gen Z professionals are looking for opportunities to change jobs in the next 2 years. About 47 percent of professionals said that they are looking for more meaningful work and will change jobs as soon as the opportunity arises. They are also looking for opportunities to change jobs for better work-life balance. Only 25 percent of the people in the study admitted that they want to change jobs for salary.
