Jiostar may join hands with vodafone airtel to get 1 billion viewers before ipl 2025

Jiostar: Mukesh Ambani’s company Jiostar video streaming platform can remove its entertainment content from YouTube so that users cannot do free digital streaming from Linier TV. The ET quoted sources in its report as saying that this change could be applicable from May 1. Recently, after the merger of JioCinema and Disney Hoststar, Geostar banned the free streaming of all its content including sports.

Company’s new plan before IPL

According to an ET report, before the Indian Premier League (IPL), Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (VI) are planning to link their data plans with Jiohotstar subscription. The company’s plan is to reach more than 1 billion audience through digital and television channels during IPL. During the 2024 IPL, Geosinema set a new record with 35,000 crore minutes of watch-time and also increased by more than 38 percent in the number of spectators.

Many people can go through the company

The annual report of Reliance Industries Limited’s financial year 2024 said, by June 2024, the number of subscriptions for Disney+ Hotstar was 35.5 million. By the end of September 2024, Reliance’s streaming platform, JioCinema, crossed an important milestone, crossing the number of 1.6 million paid customers.

Now, after the merger of JioCinema and Disney Hoststar, Geostar is taking many steps to improve its business operations. According to earlier reports, Giostar is also scheduled to lay off 1,100 employees soon to eliminate the overlapping role (one employee for the same work).

Package to advertise on platform

Before the Indian Premier League of 2025, there are many efforts to woo many small and big business to advertise on their platforms, from Geostar Startups. The advertising package on the platform ranges from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore.
