Bumrah said that Rohit Sharma helped him a lot in the beginning of his career. In the very beginning when Bumrah used to play for Mumbai Indians, he did not know much, so he would often ask Rohit Sharma for help.
Talking to Indian Express, Bumrah said, “While playing in IPL, I used to go to Rohit and ask him to set the field. I am going to bowl this ball, you set the field, I trust you. Set the field as you feel right.”
Let us tell you that Jaspreet Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2013. Then after playing IPL for about three years, Bumrah made his debut in Team India. Now Bumrah is one of the main fast bowlers of the Indian team. Jaspreet Bumrah, who made his white ball debut for India in 2016, made his Test debut in 2018.
He has played 36 Tests, 89 ODIs and 70 T20 Internationals for India so far. In Tests, he has taken 159 wickets at an average of 20.7. Apart from this, in 88 ODI innings, he has taken 149 wickets at an average of 23.55. In the remaining T20 Internationals, Bumrah has taken 89 wickets at an average of 17.74. During this, his economy was 6.28.
Bumrah has also played 133 IPL matches, bowling in 133 innings in which he has taken 165 wickets at an average of 22.52. Bumrah’s economy in IPL is 7.3.
