ICC Test Rankings, Jasprit Bumrah: India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who wreaked havoc in the first match of the five-match Test series against Australia, has become the world’s number-1 bowler in Test cricket. After the first Test match played between India and Australia in Perth, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest rankings of bowlers in Test cricket. In this, Bumrah has achieved the first position leaving behind two giants.
Jasprit Bumrah took eight wickets in the first test played against Australia in Perth. Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings and three wickets in the second innings. Due to his strong performance, Bumrah defeated two great bowlers in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings. Bumrah has now become the number-1 bowler of Test.
Bumrah becomes world number-1 bowler
Earlier, South Africa’s deadly fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was at the first place in the ICC Test rankings. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood was at second place. India’s Bumrah was at third position. Now Bumrah has overtaken these two fast bowlers and secured the first position.
Jasprit Bumrah now has 883 rating points in the latest ICC rankings. Whereas Kagiso Rabada now has 872 rating points. Rabada has now slipped to second place. Apart from this, Josh Hazlewood is at third place with 860 rating points.
Let us tell you that earlier also Bumrah was the number-1 bowler in the ICC Test rankings. On October 30, the number one title was snatched from Bumrah. Then Kagiso Rabada became world number one in Test, leaving Bumrah behind. Now after 27 days, Bumrah has again secured the first position.
In the latest ICC rankings, two other Indian bowlers are also included in the top-10. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is at number four. Along with him, bowler Ravindra Jadeja is at seventh position.
