Ishan Kishan Mumbai Indians Goodbye Message: Many cricketers, including Deepak Chahar and Mohammad Siraj, have become emotional about moving away from their old teams in the Indian Premier League. Now the name of Indian wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan has also been added to this list. Kishan was playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL since 2018, but he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 11.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. After being away from the Mumbai franchise, Ishan Kishan has shared a video clip of the special moments spent with MI on social media.
Ishan Kishan was a part of the Mumbai Indians team that became champion twice in 2019 and 2020. Among the special memories of the Mumbai team is the moment when they kissed the trophy after MI became the champion. Emotionally, he wrote in the caption, “Shared many moments of joy and happiness with all of you. MI, Mumbai and Paltan will always have a special place in my heart. With you all, I have become a better person and player.” Keeping these immortal memories in my heart, I express my gratitude to the management, coaches and fans who always supported me.
Ishan Kishan had kept his base price at Rs 2 crore in the mega auction. Actually, the first team to bid on him was Mumbai Indians, but after some time MI pulled out. The demand for wicketkeepers was very high in the auction, so everyone from Punjab Kings to Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad also bid crores of rupees on Kishan. Finally SRH included Kishan in their squad for Rs 11.25 crore.
Ishan Kishan played a total of 89 matches for Mumbai Indians in his IPL career, in which he has 2,325 runs in his name. While playing for Mumbai franchise, he has also played 15 half-century innings. But he will now be seen playing with stormy batsmen like Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma in Sunrisers Hyderabad.
