Mohammed Shami Gujarat Titans IPL 2025: Like other teams, Gujarat Titans have also started preparations to retain players before IPL 2025. According to reports, all the teams have to submit the list of retained players to BCCI by October 31. Gujarat has reportedly included two players along with Shubman Gill in the retained list, but the name of fast bowler Mohammed Shami was missing in their list.
According to reports, apart from Shubman Gill, Gujarat team can retain Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan and Team India’s batsman Sai Sudarshan. Apart from this, the team can also keep some uncapped players in the retained list. However, till now no such report has come out in which there has been talk of Shami being retained.
Shami is struggling with injury
Let us tell you that Indian fast bowlers are out of Team India these days due to injuries. Shami played his last match for India in November 2023. Recently BCCI had announced Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Shami’s name was also missing from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy team. At the same time, no update was given by the Indian Board on Shami’s injury. Let us tell you that Shami could not play even in IPL 2024 due to injury.
In such a situation, speculations are being made that the Gujarat team may release Shami, who is suffering from injury, before IPL 2025. However, till now the official information regarding Shami’s release and retention has not been revealed.
Mohammed Shami’s IPL career
Shami made his IPL debut in 2013. Till now he has played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. Shami has so far played 110 matches in the Indian Premier League, in which he has taken 127 wickets at an average of 26.86, in which his best bowling figure was 4/11.
