Wanted to become a cricketer before becoming an actor
The actor we are talking about is none other than Irrfan Khan. Irfan was born in Tonk, Rajasthan in a Muslim family of Pathan descent. He wanted to become a cricketer, however, due to lack of money, he gave up his dream and started acting. In an old interview given to Telegraph India, Irfan had admitted his desire to become a cricketer in his early twenties. He was also selected to play in the CK Nayudu Trophy, but due to poor financial condition, he could not even buy the necessary things for the tournament.
He had said, “I played cricket. I wanted to be a cricketer. I was an all-rounder and was the youngest in my team in Jaipur. I wanted to make a career out of it. I was selected for the CK Nayudu tournament. Think and Then I needed money and didn’t know who to ask for. That day I decided I couldn’t take it further, I couldn’t ask for Rs 600 at that time.”
Worked as an air conditioner repairman
When things did not go according to his plan, Irrfan Khan took admission in NSD and started learning acting. To meet his daily expenses, he also worked as an air conditioner repairman at that time. Once Irrfan Khan got a chance to go to Rajesh Khanna’s house to do some repairs. Irrfan Khan was very happy to see such a big star in front of him for the first time and he decided that he too would become an actor.

Irrfan Khan died in 2020
Irrfan Khan fought cancer in 2010 and died in April 2020 at the age of 53. His son Babil Khan is now carrying his legacy forward..He has appeared in a few films like Kaala and series like The Railway Men and he has also impressed the audience with his performances.
