Irfan Pathan vs Sanjay Manjrekar Fight Over Yashasvi Jaiswal run out: On the second day in the Melbourne Test, it seemed as if the Indian team had shot itself in the foot. In response to Australia’s 474 runs, the Indian batsmen had at one time scored 153 runs at the loss of 2 wickets and the team was moving towards a big score. Then in the 41st over, Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out on the score of 86. Jaiswal missed his century due to lack of coordination with Virat Kohli. Now, on one hand, the threat of follow-on is looming over Team India, while on the other hand, a video of a heated argument between Irfan Pathan and Sanjay Manjrekar on Jaiswal’s run out has surfaced.
On the second day, India has scored 164 runs at the loss of 5 wickets and the team is still behind by 310 runs in the first innings. After the end of the second day’s play, Irfan Pathan and Sanjay Manjrekar and Irfan Pathan were giving their views on the run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal. On one hand, Manjrekar strongly criticized Kohli, but Irfan’s views were completely opposite to his.
Manjrekar criticized Kohli
First, Sanjay Manjrekar presented his side and said, “The ball was going at a slow speed, I don’t think Virat Kohli would have been run out there. It was Jaiswal’s call. This run was probably not free from danger but ‘danger end’ It was a childish mistake made by Virat instead of Kohli who looked back and decided that if Jaiswal’s decision was wrong then he would have been out at the non-striking end. Go.”
Irfan Pathan hit back
Countering Sanjay Manjrekar’s views, Irfan Patna said that Virat Kohli was probably not confident about taking runs because the ball went quickly to the fielder. Irfan also said that Virat Kohli, standing at the non-striking end, also has the right to refuse to run away to avoid risk. After this Sanjay Manjrekar said, “If you don’t want to let me talk, then it’s okay.”
