IRE vs SA 2nd T20I Highlights: Ireland defeated South Africa by 10 runs in the second match of the two-match T20 series. Earlier, Afghanistan had defeated the African team 2-1 in the three-match ODI series. Now after Afghanistan, Ireland has destroyed the fleet of Africa. The second T20 of the series between the two was played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. This is Ireland’s first win against South Africa in T20 International.
Africa had won the first T20 of the series, but had to face defeat in the second match. In the match, South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl, which did not prove to be right for them.
Ireland, who came to bat first, put 195/6 runs on the board in 20 overs. Ross Adair, who opened for the team, played the biggest innings and scored 100 runs in 58 balls with the help of 5 fours and 9 sixes. Apart from this, captain Paul Stirling scored 52 in 31 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six. Sterling also came to the opening. Both the batsmen made a partnership of 137 (79 balls) runs for the first wicket.
South Africa got confused in chasing the target
Chasing the target of 196 runs, South Africa lost the match by 10 runs. The team could score only 185 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Reeza Hendricks and Matthew Bretzke played the biggest innings for the team. Hendricks scored 51 runs in 32 balls with the help of 6 fours and 1 six, while Britzke scored 51 runs in 41 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. However, the innings of both were not enough to make the team cross the victory line.
Irish bowlers did wonders
While chasing the target, South Africa was stopped by the Irish bowlers even before they could cross the winning line. Mark Adair took maximum 4 wickets for the team. Graham Hume took 3 wickets. The remaining 1-1 success went to Matthew Humphreys and Benjamin White.
