A major change has been announced in Bihar Police Department. 1991 batch IPS officer Vinay Kumar has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar. He will take over this responsibility in place of IPS Alok Raj. Vinay Kumar has been appointed for two years.
Talking about the education of IPS Vinay Kumar, he has done his engineering from the country’s prestigious institute IIT Kharagpur. He is currently working as DG in Bihar Bhawan Police Construction Corporation. Apart from this, he has also been posted on important posts like ADG (Law and Order) and ADG (CID). Bihar Police Department has got a new Director General of Police (DGP) in the form of 1991 batch IPS officer Vinay Kumar. As soon as Vinay Kumar was selected for this important post, there is an atmosphere of celebration in Rampurani village of his home district Vaishali.
only brother among four sisters
Vinay Kumar is a resident of Rampurani village of Mahua police station area of Vaishali district of Bihar. His father Ram Iqbal Shukla was a teacher. Vinay Kumar, the only brother among four sisters, was very promising in studies since childhood. He completed his primary education from his village school. After passing matriculation in the village itself, he went to Patna for intermediate studies. After passing Intermediate from Patna, Vinay Kumar took admission in the country’s prestigious institute IIT Kharagpur and completed his engineering studies from there.
Journey from engineer to IPS
After studying engineering, Vinay Kumar started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. He took the UPSC exam but it took a year for the results to come. Despite this he did not give up and continued working hard. Eventually he passed the examination and joined the Indian Police Service (IPS).
