BCCI Meets IPL Owners: A big revelation has come out just before the meeting of BCCI and IPL team owners. A media report has stated that IPL team owners have urged BCCI to take action against those foreign players who withdraw their names from the competition at the last moment. This issue has been raised by not one or two but most of the franchises, so the Board of Control for Cricket in India can soon take a big decision on this subject.
Cricbuzz has reported that many players including Jason Roy, Alex Hales and Wanindu Hasaranga have withdrawn from the tournament many times at crucial moments. This has often happened due to getting less money in the auction. This issue has forced the IPL management to think. Usually players decide not to play the tournament citing personal reasons and injuries. This has become a cause of trouble for the management of many teams.
Eye on IPL 2025 mega auction too
It has also been noticed that many players are not giving much importance to the mega auction. Instead, they want to participate in the mini auction as the mini auction can fetch them a bigger amount than the mega auction. There have been meetings between BCCI officials and IPL team owners in the past as well, but this time it is expected that many big issues can be considered. Talking about IPL 2024, many famous players including David Willey and Jason Roy had withdrawn their names from the tournament. In this meeting to be held on July 31, a big decision can also be taken on the rules of the mega auction, team purse and impact player rule.
