Lalit Modi Allegation On ECB For The Hundred: Lalit Modi, the inventor of IPL and former chairman of the tournament, gave a shocking statement on the England Cricket Board, saying that the board is trying to fool people. He warned the investors investing in England Board’s ‘Twenty Hundred’ tournament, especially Lalit Modi has warned the Indian investors.
Let us tell you that the England Board is considering privatizing the Hundred tournament by selling almost 100 percent shares of all the 8 teams. The tournament includes teams of Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets and Welsh Fire.
All the owners of IPL franchises are reportedly showing interest in buying shares of The Hundred. IPL franchises showing interest in acquiring shares reportedly include Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
Lalit Modi while talking to KrizzBuzz on this matter said, “He is trying to create hype in the tournament which is basically not as appropriate as it is being presented.”
Let us tell you that four seasons of the tournament have been played so far. Meanwhile, the England Board has predicted a rapid increase in media rights deals. The board is hoping to earn 1.8 million pounds (about 20 crore Indian rupees) from next year to 2028.
Even before this, Lalit Modi had made a tweet regarding The Hundred, in which he talked about the tournament. He had told in his tweet that the estimate of the England Board is different from the truth.
