IPL 2025 Mega Auction Live Updates: Today is the first day of the mega auction of IPL 2025. The mega auction of the 18th season of IPL is on 24 (Sunday) and 25 November (Monday) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 577 players will be auctioned this time. The auction will start at 3:30 pm Indian time.
This time the auction is very special, because many big star players of world cricket are present in it. Mega stars like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Jos Buttler, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Mitchell Starc, KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are there in the mega auction of IPL 2025.
There are a total of 577 players in the IPL 2025 auction, of which 367 are Indians and 210 are foreigners. However, all 10 teams have a vacant bracket of maximum 204 players. This means that only a maximum of 204 players will be sold in the auction, out of which a maximum of 70 will be foreign players.
As always, Rs 2 crore is the highest base price. There are a total of 81 players in this base price. Apart from this, the lowest base price is Rs 30 lakh. Earlier it was Rs 20 lakh. Most of the players with base price of Rs 2 crore are Indians.
The IPL 2025 auction will start with two marquee sets. After that the first set of capped players will be revealed, who have been divided into batsman, fast bowler, wicketkeeper, spinner and all-rounder. Then the number of uncapped players will come. After this the acceleration round will start.
Let us tell you that all 577 players will not be called one by one. Names of only 117 players will be taken one by one. Then the acceleration round will start from the 118th player. Earlier names of 574 players were shortlisted. Then 3 names including Joffra Archer have increased. 42 year old James Anderson will be the oldest player in the auction, while 13 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar will be the youngest player.
Australia’s Cameron Green is one big player who is not part of the IPL 2025 auction. He has not been shortlisted due to injury. It will take about 6 months for Green to become match fit. 1574 players had registered for the auction. However, out of these only 577 players have been shortlisted.
