IPL 2025 Retention Player Fees: Just before the mega auction of IPL 2025, the picture of retention has become completely clear. Now everything should be clear regarding how many players the teams will be able to retain and how much salary they will get. Now teams will be able to retain 6 players from their existing squad. There will also be an option of right to match. The auction purse has also been increased. Teams will be able to retain a total of five capped Indian or foreign players. There will be an uncapped player in this. With this they will have the option of 6 retentions.
IPL franchises will be able to retain 6 players before the mega auction. Different salary slabs have been made for these players. There will be five capped and one uncapped player in the retained list. The value of an uncapped player can be up to Rs 4 crore. Whereas the value of a capped player will be quite high. The first retained player will be worth Rs 18 crore. The second player will be worth Rs 14 crore and the third player will be worth Rs 11 crore. Similarly, the fourth player will be worth Rs 18 and the fifth player will be worth Rs 14 crore.
The auction purse of the teams has been increased –
IPL said in its media advisory that the auction purse of the teams has been increased. Teams will have Rs 120 crore in IPL 2025. If we look at the 2024 season, it will be Rs 110 crore including auction purse and incremental performance pay. Now it has become Rs 146 crore in 2025. This amount will increase to Rs 151 crore in 2026. In this way it will be Rs 157 crore by 2027.
What decision was taken regarding the Impact Player rule?
There was a lot of discussion about the Impact Player rule from last season till now. Many types of questions were being raised regarding this. But this rule will now continue from 2025 to 2027 cycle. However, nothing can be said yet as to what decision will be taken after this.
