Bengaluru included him in their team by paying a huge amount of Rs 11.50 crore. During this period, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also tried their best to buy Salt. Before this, Salt has played for Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata.

After joining Royal Challengers Bangalore, Phil Salt expressed happiness on playing with Virat Kohli. He said, “I respect Virat Kohli a lot. Whenever I played against him, I always got a chance to laugh and talk. Now getting a chance to play with him in the same team is special for me.”
Salt told the special strength of Bengaluru
Phil Salt also openly expressed his opinion about the aggressive playing style of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He said, “Royal Challengers Bangalore always plays aggressively. They have strong players and a world class batting line-up. I have been watching their team’s matches in the IPL and now it is a matter of pride for me to be a part of that team.”
Spent a wonderful time with Kolkata
Phil Salt played for Kolkata Knight Riders last season, where he replaced Jason Roy. Salt performed brilliantly for Kolkata and played an important role in leading the team to consecutive wins. Because of this, Kolkata also tried to buy him back, but due to budget they could not succeed.
Phil Salt said, “My time with Kolkata Knight Riders was memorable. I am happy that he tried to bring me back into the team. But now I am excited about this new challenge with Royal Challengers Bangalore and feel fortunate to be a part of this team’s tradition.”
