Let us tell you that in the mega auction of IPL 2025, all the 10 teams had a maximum of 204 slots vacant. Teams bought a total of 182 players. Teams spent a total of Rs 639.15 crore to buy these players. Out of 182, 120 Indian and 62 foreign players were sold.
Rs 383.40 crore were spent on Indian players, while bids worth Rs 255.75 crore were made on foreign players. The Government of India will get TDS according to the total amount of Indian and foreign players. According to reports, different TDS is deducted on the salaries of Indian and foreign players.
How much amount will the Government of India get?
According to media reports, 10 percent TDS will be given on the IPL salary of Indian players and 20 percent TDS will be given on the IPL salary of foreign players. Rs 383.40 crore was spent on Indian players, according to which TDS was Rs 38.34 crore. Whereas Rs 255.75 were spent on foreign players, according to which TDS was Rs 51.15 crore. Both together amount to Rs 89.49, which will go to the treasury of the Government of India in the form of TDS.
Biggest bids on Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer
It is noteworthy that the biggest bid was made on Rishabh Pant in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Then Shreyas Iyer remained second in the list. There was a difference of only Rs 25 lakh in the IPL salaries of both.
Pant was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a price of Rs 27 crore. Whereas Punjab Kings bought Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore. With this, Pant and Iyer became the first and second most expensive players respectively in IPL history.
