IPL 2025 Mega Auction Update: Fans are eagerly waiting for the mega auction to be held before IPL 2025. The official date regarding the auction has not been revealed yet, but it is being claimed in media reports that the mega auction of 2025 can be held on foreign soil on 24 or 25 November. Earlier, the mini auction for IPL 2024 was held in Dubai.
On the lines of last time, this time also the auction can be organized outside India. However, this time a different place from Dubai can be chosen. In some reports that surfaced earlier, it was claimed that the mega auction for 2025 IPL could be held in Saudi. In a Cricbuzz report, it was said that Singapore is also being considered for the mega auction.
According to reports, BCCI is currently considering the auction venue. Nothing has been decided yet. Due to this, no update has been given to the franchise by BCCI regarding the auction venue. However, BCCI can soon tell all the franchises about the auction venue because for the auction to be held outside India, the franchise will make arrangements for all its representatives, from visas to everything else.
Retention list of teams is yet to be announced
Apart from the venue and date for the mega auction, the retention list of the teams is also yet to be released. It has been officially made clear by the IPL that teams can retain a total of 6 players before the 2025 IPL mega auction, which can include a maximum of 5 capped and maximum 2 uncapped players. According to reports, all the teams have the last date to submit the list of retained players to BCCI on 31st October. Being capped or uncapped of any player is also related to this date. If a player makes his international debut before October 31, only then will he be included as capped.
