In this big event, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal shared the news of the birth of Jay Shah’s son. Announcing this, Dhumal congratulated Jay Shah and described him as the “off-field captain of India”. He said, “I congratulate India’s off-field captain Jay Shah on the birth of his son.”
This time has brought double happiness for Jai Shah. He is going to take over the post of Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in December. In the elections held in August 2024, Jay Shah was elected Chairman of the ICC in place of New Zealand’s Greg Barclay. It is a matter of pride for Indian cricket fans that for the first time an Indian has got a chance to hold this important post.
Jay Shah started his journey in Gujarat Cricket Administration in 2009. After becoming the Secretary of BCCI in October 2019, he took Indian cricket to new heights. As President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) from 2021 to 2024, he played an important role in the development of regional cricket.
