IPL 2025 Mega Auction Marquee Players List: IPL 2025 mega auction is to be held on 24-25 November, before which the list of marquee players was released. There are two lists of marquee players and 6 players have been kept in each list. There are speculations that the auction can start with these players. It has not been confirmed yet which player will get the first bid. Before that let us know how many players have been kept in the marquee list.
How many Indians are in the list of marquee players?
12 players were given ‘Marquee Player’ status for the mega auction, which includes 7 Indian and five foreign players. Talking about Indian players, their names are Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj. Let us tell you that the base price of all these Indian marquee players is Rs 2 crore. David Miller is the only marquee player in the entire list who has kept his base price at Rs 1.5 crore.
In the first set of mega auction, bidding can be done on these marquee players, on whom teams can spend crores of rupees. At least Rs 45 crore is left in the purse of all the teams. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings are left with Rs 110.5 crore and RCB is left with Rs 83 crore. It will not be a surprise if these franchises are seen bidding on more and more marquee players.
How many players will be sold?
A total of 1,574 players had registered for the mega auction, but out of them only 574 players were shortlisted for the auction. Since all the teams together have already retained 46 players, hence now only a maximum of 204 players can be sold in the auction.
