Currently, the airline has more than 800 women pilots. The number of women in IndiGo’s total pilot population is about 14 percent. This is more than the global average of 7 to 9 percent. The company wants to increase it further.
The goal is to be achieved by next year

Now our target is to take the number of women pilots beyond 1000. We want to achieve this figure by next year. This will increase the diversity in our workforce even more. The airline is also going to expand its fleet and network.
There will be opportunities in engineering and flying staff
Sukhjeet S Pasricha said that IndiGo is going to make big changes in engineering and flying staff as well. We want to include women everywhere. The number of women in our engineering team has also increased by about 30 percent. The airline has the highest number of 800 women pilots in the country. He said that we have the highest average of women pilots in the whole world. We want to become an airline with 1000 women pilots by August 2025. IndiGo currently has 5000 pilots. This airline flies about 2000 flights daily.
On completion of 77 years of independence, 77 women pilots were given jobs
IndiGo has given jobs to 77 women pilots on Wednesday. They will fly the company’s Airbus and ATR planes. These women pilots have been given jobs on the completion of 77 years of independence. By the end of March 2024, the airline had 36,860 employees. These included 5,038 pilots and 9,363 cabin crew. By the end of the last financial year, 713 women pilots were working in the airline. The number of women employees is 44 percent. Along with this, people from the LGBTQ community have also been employed.
