Tatkal Ticket: Indian Railways is the lifeline of the country. Like the nerves in the body, Indian railway tracks connect the villages, towns, cities and metro cities of the country. Railways are known for transporting people from one place to another in less money. But now the railways are becoming modern. This is also affecting the prices of railway tickets. Railway ticket prices are now beating airlines. Something similar has happened with the Howrah Express running between Bangalore and Kolkata. The price of its ticket has crossed the magical figure of Rs 10,000. There is a lot of anger among the people seeing this.
Railway’s premium Tatkal system is being criticized
Indian Railways implemented the Dynamic Pricing System a few years ago. In this, the ticket prices keep increasing according to the demand. But, probably no one would have imagined that it would increase up to 4 times. Usually the ticket of SMVB Howrah Express costs Rs 2,900. But, this ticket is available on Premium Tatkal System. Ticket) was available for Rs 10,100. A Reddit user has also shared a screenshot of this. After this, people on social media started condemning the dynamic pricing system.
How is a ticket worth Rs 2900 available for Rs 10,100?
According to the Reddit post, the price of 2 AC ticket in Howrah Express is Rs 2,900. But, according to the demand, it increases to Rs 10,100. The person who posted the post has raised the question that why would anyone want to pay Rs 10,000 for a ticket of Rs 2,900. The premium Tatkal system was implemented by IRCTC. It has been kept separate from the Tatkal ticket system. The ticket price in the Tatkal system remains fixed, but in Premium Tatkal, it keeps increasing. Questions have been raised on this system many times before.
Flight tickets cost between 4500 and 10 thousand rupees
A user wrote on this post that instead of travelling in premium Tatkal, if we travel without ticket and pay the fine, we will be able to travel for less. Indian Railways charges a fine of Rs 250 to Rs 1000. People have also drawn people’s attention towards flight tickets. In August, flight tickets from Bangalore to Kolkata are costing between Rs 4500 to Rs 10,000. It takes you 29 hours by train and the flight will take you there in just 2.40 hours.
