Paris Paralympics 2024 India Record: In Paris Paralympics 2024, Indian para athletes did wonders by winning the most medals in 24 hours i.e. in one day. Indian athletes created this history on the fifth day (02 September, Monday). On Monday, India had a total of 8 medals. Earlier on 30 August, Indian athletes had won 5 medals in a day at Tokyo Paralympics. That day too Sumit Antil won gold for India in javelin and on the day of 8 medals in Paris Paralympics, Sumit also captured gold for India. So let’s know who won the medal in which sport.
1- Yogesh Kathunia
Yogesh Kathuniya won the silver medal by finishing second in the discus throw final. This was India’s first medal on the fifth day.
2- Nitish Kumar
Nitesh won the gold medal in badminton’s men’s singles SL3. Nitesh won the gold by defeating Britain’s Bethell 21-14 18-21, 23-2.
3- Thulasimathi Murugesan
Thulasimathi Murugesan won the silver medal in the women’s singles SU5 of badminton. She lost 21-17, 21-10 in the final match, after which she won the silver. However, she missed the gold.
4- Manisha Ramdas
Manisha Ramdas won bronze for India in the women’s singles SU5 of badminton. She defeated Katherine Rosengren of Denmark 21-12, 21-8 in the bronze medal match.
5 Suhas Yathiraj
Suhas Yathiraj also performed brilliantly in badminton. He won the silver medal for the country. Suhas Yathiraj lost to Lucas Mazur 21-9, 21-13 in the final match of Badminton Men’s Single SL4, after which he won the silver.
6- Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi
The pair of Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi performed brilliantly in archery and won the bronze medal. The pair of Rakesh and Sheetal Devi defeated the pair of Italy’s Eleonora Sarti and Matteo Bonacina 156-155 in the bronze medal match of mixed team compound.
7 Sumit Antil
Sumit Antil won the gold medal in the final of Men’s Javelin F64. Sumit won the gold with a throw of 70.59 meters.
8 Nitya Sri Sumati Sivan
Nitya Sri Sumati Sivan won the bronze medal in the women’s singles SH6 of badminton. She defeated Rina Marlina of Indonesia 21-14, 21-6 in the bronze medal match.
