The hockey team was welcomed with drums and trumpets at the Delhi airport. The hockey team returned to India from Paris on 10 August itself. After returning to India, the hockey team reached Amritsar’s Golden Temple to pay obeisance.

In the Paris Olympics, the Indian hockey team created history by winning consecutive Olympic medals after 52 years. Earlier, in the Tokyo Olympics played in 2021, the hockey team also won the bronze medal.

PR Sreejesh retired
Hockey team’s veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh played the last match of his career in the bronze medal match played in the Paris Olympics. PR Sreejesh retired after winning the bronze medal in Paris. PR Sreejesh was also seen as the flag bearer along with shooter Manu Bhaker in the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
