Talking about the current decade, Virat is the highest run-scorer among Indian batsmen, having scored more than 5,000 runs.
There is a race between Virat-Rohit-Gill
The Indian batsman who has scored the most runs in this decade so far is Rohit Sharma. Rohit has come to bat in 148 innings so far, in which he has scored 5,527 runs. His average is 40.63 and he has also scored 10 centuries and 34 half-centuries in this decade. Virat Kohli is at the second place in this list, who has scored 5,521 runs in 149 innings at an average of 41.82. There is a gap of only 6 runs between Virat and Rohit.
Shubman Gill is the third highest run-scorer for India in the current decade. He is actually moving towards the first position very fast. Gill has played 114 innings in international cricket after 2020, in which he has scored 4,501 runs at an average of 45. Gill has also scored 12 centuries and 22 fifties during this period.

Apart from this, if we talk only about the year 2024, the batsman who has scored the most runs so far is Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has scored 1,099 runs so far. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have scored 1,001 and 940 respectively this year. But Virat Kohli is far behind them. This year has proved to be very disappointing for Kohli. In 2024, he has played 17 innings so far, in which he has been able to score only 319 runs.
