Indian Cricket Team Captaincy: After the T20 World Cup 2024, there was a big change in the captaincy of Team India. After this change, the discussion of Shubman Gill becoming the next Indian captain intensified. Rohit Sharma retired from T20 International after winning the T20 World Cup title, after which Suryakumar Yadav was given the command of the T20 team. Along with this, Shubman Gill was appointed the vice-captain of the ODI and T20 team on the Sri Lanka tour.
After Gill was made the vice-captain, the discussion became intense that now Gill will be the next captain of Team India after Rohit Sharma. Now former fielding coach of the Indian cricket team R Sridhar also spoke about Gill’s captaincy.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, R Sridhar said, “For me, Shubman is an all-format player and I think he will be Rohit Sharma’s trainer in ODIs and Test matches. I am sure India will see him as the captain of all formats after the 2027 ODI World Cup.”
He took command of Team India on Zimbabwe tour
Let us tell you that after the 2024 T20 World Cup, Team India toured Zimbabwe for a five-match T20 series. Shubman Gill was made the captain of Team India on this tour. Most of the young players were given a chance in the Indian team. This was the first time Gill took charge of Team India.
