The match will be played from 9.30 am. After this the possibility of rain will increase further. There is a 43 percent chance of rain at 10.30 am and 80 percent chance of rain at 11.30 am. This trend may continue further. If this happens then the match may be delayed.

The pitch has been covered before the match. Along with this, cover has also been put on some parts of the field. The first session of the first day of the India-New Zealand Test will definitely be affected due to rain. Along with this, rain can also cause disruption in the second session.

The drainage system of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is quite good. According to a news from StarSport, after the rain, this ground can be made playable in just 15 minutes. No matter how heavy the rain is, it can be prepared for play in a short time. This ground was newly prepared in 2017. Sub-surface aeration and vacuum powered drainage system has been used here.
